Where I “linguistics”
At Mango Languages, I’m a linguist and content creator. Our main product is our language learning app, which offers 70+ languages!
Ph.D. (2021)
As a doctoral student in the Linguistics Department, I worked under the supervision of language contact specialist Dr. Marlyse Baptista and computational neurolinguist Dr. Jonathan Brennan.
Undergraduate degree (2014)
B.S. in World Language Education | BS. in Applied Spanish | Minor in International Studies | 3.99 GPA | Served as Student Marshal for the Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese Department.

I studied Bayesian statistics at Universität Potsdam, philosophy of language at University of Oslo, digital text analysis at University of Victoria, Quechua at Centro Tinku, Korean at Yonsei University and Korea University,Quichua at Universidad de San Francisco de Quito, and conducted research at Universidad de Granada.

Co-founder, Language Matters initiative
Language Matters is an initiative at U-M to increase recognition of the role of language diversity in creating inclusive classrooms and campus climate. All accents, dialects, and languages deserve respect.
NSF PIRE grantee
I designed materials and collected data for second language acquisition specialist Dr. Giuli Dussias at Universidad de Granada (Spain). The study examined L2 processing of syntactic ambiguity in Spanish-English bilinguals.
LSA member
The Linguistics Society of America (LSA) is a professional society for linguists founded in 1924 to advance the scientific study of language. I’ve been a member since 2015 and regularly attend the annual conference.

Researcher, Computational Neurolinguistics Lab
Working on my dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Brennan, I was been a member of his Computational Neurolinguistics Lab since 2016. I conducted EEG research on bilingual language processing.
Teaching workshop facilitator, CRLT
Since 2018, I’ve lead teacher training sessions with CRLT (Center for Research on Learning and Teaching) for instructors at The University of Michigan.
Public engagement workshop facilitator
During the 2018-19 academic year, I got to work at the GinsbergCenter, leading workshops to prepare student groups around campus to engage in mindful community work.
CLS grantee, South Korea
Are you or a student you mentor interested in learning a lesser-learned foreign language? This program is intense but you get proficient. As my niece would put it, I went from “zero to hero” in Korean with this 8-week scholarship.
Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor
